I'm wondering if any of you have noticed this with your Savage. My Virago that I had previous to my Savage was a little less temperamental with the shifter, and never did this.
When down-shifting, if I try to go into first gear while I'm travelling too fast, even with the clutch pulled in, the shifter sort of "buzzes". It sure doesn't seem happy about it. I've learned better to only shift into first when I'm almost completely stopped. On three occasions since I got the bike, when I've mistimed that downshift into first, the engine has complete shut off on me. I hear a quiet "click" and then it's dead. It restarts without a problem and never does this unless I downshift too early. Anyone else ever experience this?
